LG Elections for Reserved seats in Punjab: ECP issues schedule

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday issued schedule for filling up the reserved seats in Union Councils, District Councils, Municipal Committees, Municipal Corporations and Metropolitan Corporations of Punjab Province.
According to the schedule, the commission has fixed Nov 08 as polling date for filling indirect seats of indirect seats for women, peasant worker, non-muslims, youth and technocrats in District Councils, Municipal Corporations and Metropolitan Corporation.
The polls for Indirect Seats of Municipal Committees will be held on Nov 10 and indirect seat's elections of Union Councils are scheduled to be held on Nov 12. The consolidation and declaration of results by the Returning Officer will be done on Nov 14.
The notification of the returned candidates would be issued by the ECP on Nov 21. While elected members would take oath of the office on Nov 26.
The candidates could file nomination papers with Returning officers Oct 14 and 15. Scrutiny of Nomination papers would be conducted by ROs on Oct 17 and 18. Appeals can be filed against decisions of ROs on Oct 20.
Last date for deciding appeals by the Appellate Authorities is Oct 22 and candidates can withdraw their candidature by Oct 24 and publication of revised list of candidates along with symbols is Oct 25.
