JUI-S Chief Maulana Sami-ul-Haq assassinated in Rawalpindi

JUI-S Chief Maulana Sami-ul-Haq has been assassinated in Rawalpindi.

This was confirmed by Maulana Sami-ul-Haq's son Maulana Hamid-ul Haq, while talking to a private channel on phone.

Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq said that his father was attacked at his residence by some unknown assailants, who stabbed him.

Maulana Sami-ul-Haq was admitted to Safari Hospital in Rawalpindi, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The funeral prayers of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq will be offered at Darul Uloom Haqqania Akora Khattak at 2 pm tomorrow.

Maulana Anwar ul Haq, brother of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq has appealed the students to remain calm.

He said protest will be held but no roads will be blocked.

President Dr. Arif Alvi has expressed sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq.

Condemning this tragic incident, he expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.

The President paid tributes to Maulana Sami-ul-Haq's religious, social and political services.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly condemned the martyrdom of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq.

In a statement from Beijing, where he is currently on visit to China, the Prime Minister directed to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Prime Minister said Maulana Sami-ul-Haq was a great scholar of Islam.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has expressed deep grief over tragic incident of assassination of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq in which he embraced martyrdom.

In a message, the Chief Justice extended heartfelt condolences to the grieved family and prayed to Allah almighty to shower His blessings upon departed soul and give patience to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has condemned the assassination of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq and sought report from the Inspector General of Punjab police.

Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi has also condemned the assassination.

In a statement, he said Maulana Sami-ul-Haq's political and religous services will be remembered.

Information Minister Chaudhary Fawad Hussain says nation will foil the nefarious conspiracy against the country with its unity and solidarity.

In a statement, he condemned the assassination of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq and expressed sorrow and grief over it.

The Minister said the attack is a conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan. Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said the perpetrators will be identified and brought to justice. He said Sami-ul-Haq was a great religious scholar and leader.
