PM Imran Khan briefs journalists on multiple new laws introduced by PTI Government

ISLAMABAD - Talking to the newsmen, Prime Minister Imran Khan says that bills of public interest tabled in the National Assembly should be passed to facilitate common people.

He said civil cases are the major issue of common person and 50 percent of such matters are land disputes.

He said we have laid these bills to ease life of the common people.

He said Enforcement of Women's Property Right Bill is aimed at protecting rights of ownership and possession of women in properties.

Prime Minister said the Whistle blower Protection and Vigilance Commission Bill will help curb corruption and corrupt practices.

He said legal, financial, or other assistance to access to justice to the poor and vulnerable segments of the society will be provided through Legal Aid and Justice Authority Bill, 2019.

The Prime Minister said democracy is nothing without upholding merit and accountability.

He said they will not succeed in blackmailing us and I will not compromise my 22-year struggle against corruption.

Imran Khan, however, said that government is trying hard to overcome economic issues confronting Pakistan.

To a question, Imran Khan said reshuffle in the federal cabinet is a routine matter and our prime focus is to improve governance. Answering another question, he said PTI government does not interfere in judiciary and NAB.

Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said government has tabled seven bills pertaining to public interest and opposition should fully cooperate with the treasury to get these bills passed from the parliament.
