Pakistan - Turkey vow for new defence sector ventures

RAWALPINDI - Secretary Defence, Lt Gen (Retd) Ikram Ul Haq has attended the 14th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF-2019) in Turkey.
The four-day fair, which concluded on Friday featured latest innovations in defence technology and equipment, said a press release issued here.
Sponsored by a close friend of Pakistan and important defence partner the event provides a valuable opportunity to identify new avenues of collaboration between the two countries. The event also allows interaction and exchange of ideas with defence leadership of visiting countries through side line meetings. Availing the opportunity, Secretary Defence met with Gen (Retd) Hulusi Akar, Turkish Minister for National Defence as well as Professor Ismail Demir, President of Turkish Defence Industries. During these meetings, the dignitaries discussed matters pertaining to mutual interest, defence and defence industrial cooperation. Both sides explored the possibility of new avenues of cooperation to further enhance collaboration between the two countries.
