ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz has responded over the bail petition decision of Nawaz Sharif.
She said on Friday that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was not sentenced for committing any crime.
Taking to Twitter hours after the Supreme Court rejected the ailing ex-premier’s plea of permanent bail on medical grounds, Maryam said: “Nawaz Sharif is not facing ‘punishment’ for committing any crime, rather he was punished for becoming people’s voice.”
The PML-N supremo has “rendered immense sacrifices” which Maryam said will bear the “sweetest fruit”. “The fruit of Nawaz’s sacrifices will be for the coming generations of the country.”
Addressing party supporters in the same tweet, she said Nawaz was struggling for them and he will not let them down.
