CM Pervaiz Khattak faces no confidence motion

PESHAWAR - Awami National Party (ANP) parliamentary leader in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly Sardar Hussain Babak has written to the K-P Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, requesting him to ask the provincial Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to seek a vote-of-confidence from the K-P assembly under Article-130 (7) of the Constitution.

“Not only the members of the assembly but also the people of the province will be thankful to you for fulfilling this constitutional need,” Babak stated in his letter, adding that the chief minister does not have the support of enough members to hold office.

“This house had elected the chief minister, speaker and deputy speaker in 2013. But unfortunately, due to their flawed policies, they pushed the province into trouble and took it to the brink of bankruptcy,” the letter read, adding, “The chief minister has lost support in the assembly to hold his office.”

Jhagra has already summoned a session of the provincial assembly for May 3 (today).
