Govt striving to improve health facilities in Balochistan

Balochistan present government is striving for promotion of health sector and provides sophisticated health facilities to the poor people residing in remote areas of the province.

The Director General Provincial Health Services Department told Radio Pakistan Quetta during a conversation on Friday that for this purpose, implementation on various projects is in progress.

He said that a major programme to control the rate of birth across the province has been started at a cost of about four billion rupees in order to give a healthy society to the residents of the province.

Furthermore, a National Maternal Newly Born and Child Care programme is being carried out at a cost of 1.4 billion rupees with the aim of provision of modern health facilities to the mother and child.

Likewise, a project to control the epidemic diseases in the province is also being executed   at a cost of 2.5 billion rupees.

Besides, construction work on a hospital in Naal area of Khuzdar district is to be completed at a cost of 270 million rupees.

Similarly, another programme to control Tuberculosis disease is also being   implemented in the province at a cost of 551 million rupees.APP/AFP
