ATC remands Khadim Rizvi, others in police custody for 20 days

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) handed over Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi and three others, involved in a provocative speeches and ransacking case, to police on 20-day physical remand.

Earlier, besides Khadim Rizvi, TLP leaders including Pir Afzal Qadri, Ashraf Asif and Ejaz Ashrafi were produced

before ATC Judge Sheikh Sajjad Ahmad amid strict security.

The police apprised the court that the accused were involved in provocative speeches and ransacking of public property and requested for physical their remand for investigation purposes.

At this, the court handed over the accused to police on 20-day physical remand. The court directed the police for

producing the accused on January 22.

The court also ordered police for medical examination of the accused after the defence counsel submitted that his

clients - Khadim Hussain Rizvi and another - were not well.

The Civil Lines Police had registered a case against the accused on charges of provocative speeches, ransacking of government and public properties and others during the protests.
