Swat suicide blast responsibility claimed

PESHAWAR: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan TTP terrorist organisation based in Afghanistan has accepted responsibility for the Swat suicide blast.

At least three security officials were martyred and seven others injured in a suicide attack near a military camp in Sharifabad area of Swat’s Kabal Tehsil on Saturday.

“Three security officials embraced shahadat while 7 injured [in the blast],” said a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Initial reports suggest that the blast took place near the Pakistan Army’s sports unit situated in the area.

Security forces and police have cordoned off the area and a search operation was launched to arrest the assailants.

Injured were taken to Saidu Teaching Hospital in Mingora, Swat.

Meanwhile, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack in an email sent to the media, saying this was the second attack this month with more to follow.
