China launches its 21st Beidou navigation satellite into space for its own global navigation system
BEIJING: China launched a satellite for Beidou navigation network on Monday.

It is the 21st satellite of the network and China requires 35 satellites for being a fully functional global navigator.

China will launch 20 Beidou satellites in next three years.

Beidou network will be ready in 2020 for global navigation services.

Chinese military will be the primary user of Beidou navigation services however it will be used for civilian applications like personal navigation, aviation routing and disaster relief.  China is fast moving into the space race with USA, EU and the induction of the independent Global Navigation System would be a giant leap towards this direction.
