Over 3,300 KP Police Officials martyred and wounded in war against terrorism

PESHAWAR: Over 3,300 KP Police Officials martyred and wounded in war against terrorism, reveals Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai.

He said on Friday that in the war against terrorism 1726 police have sacrificed their lives while 1652 have been injured adding that in the recognition of their offerings provincial government has increased shuhada package for police families.

He was speaking at press conference, held here at Provincial Cabinet Room at Civil Secretariat, and said that the families of martyred police constable to inspector level will get Rs10 million as shuhada package, families of martyred DSP would receive Rs15 million and families of martyred SP to DIG level will get Rs20 million.

He added that special packages will be provided to injured Ghazis.

Deputy Inspector General Fasih Ud Din, PRO to IGP Riaz Khan and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Shaukat Yousafzai said that it was the duty of police force to fight street crime but they succeeded in beating terrorism and police became the front line force fighting militancy.

He added that Levies and Khasadar forces in merged districts offered their lives to bring peace in the region.
