*ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) will hold a meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan here today to discuss the terms of its likely alliance with the cricket star turned-politician’s party which is set to form government at the Centre. *

The PTI, which emerged as the single largest party in the 2018 polls, is short of a simple majority and needs the support of independents and small coalition partners such as the MQM-P to acquire the magical number of 172 in the 242-house to form the government.

Led by party convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the MQM-P delegation will meet the prime minister-in-waiting at his Banigala residence to apprise him of its demands for being part of his government.

It is pertinent to mention here that MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar had earlier said the party has assured to support the PTI as it was a great opportunity to serve Karachi and solve the problems facing the city.

He said it was heartening to see the imminent government showing interest in resolving the problems of Karachi, and his party will support the PTI in this regard.
