Shahid Afridi strongly reacts over occupied Kashmir violence

KARACHI – Former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi has strongly condemned the fresh spree of violence in Indian-occupied-Kashmir.

The all-rounder termed the situation in the strife-torn valley ‘appaling and worrisome’ calling upon the international organisations to take notice of the incidents.

“Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?” wondered the 38-year-old cricketer.

It is noteworthy that the Indian forces unleashed a fresh assault on the Kashmiris over the weekend killing over one and a half dozen in and injuring 200 in the valley after fierce clashes between rebels and government forces.

Moreover, at least 25 civilians suffered pellet wounds, while six others were being treated for bullet injuries, according to police. Locals, however, said that the number of those hurt was much higher.

Armed police and paramilitary soldiers in riot gear fanned out across the region Monday and are patrolling streets in anticipation of anti-India protests and clashes.
