Repatriation process of Afghan refugees begins today

The voluntary repatriation of Afghan refugees from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to their motherland started on Monday.

A repatriation center has been opened at Chamkani near Peshawar to register refugees who want to go back to Afghanistan.

Sixteen thousand Afghan refugees have already been registered with the center and they will be repatriated to Afghanistan by the end of next month.

Afghan refugees from Hazara region are being provided repatriation related documentation facilities at a center opened at Chamkani near Peshawar.

UNHCR representative in Haripur told our Abbottab's correspondent that two hundred dollar are also being provided to each returning Afghan refugee besides food and other basic items.
