Islamabad Police recover cache of weapons during operation

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Islamabad Bhara Kau police on Monday conducted search operation in its respective jurisdiction following National Action Plan and nabbed three besides recovery of huge cache of weapons from them, a police spokesman said.

Following directions of Minister for Interior, Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, officers/officials of Islamabad Police, Pak Rangers and other security agencies conducted search operation in various areas of Bhara Kau including Shahdra and Mandla village and its adjacent areas.

Under supervision of SP (City) Zubair Ahmed Sheikh, DSP Safeer Bhatti, SHO Bhara Kau police station Inspector Mehboob Ahmed joined this search operation while police commandos, lady commandos and staff of Bomb Disposal squad also participated in it.

They checked 300 houses, searched 600 persons on the spot and nabbed three suspects during it. A huge cache of weapons including 8 double barrel guns, 4 single barrel guns, 4 repeater guns, one 8 MM rifle, one 7 MM, two 30 bore pistol, one 32 bore revolver and 244 rounds were also recovered.

SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has appealed the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them.
