ISLAMABAD: (APP) Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting in Islamabad on Friday to discuss matters relating to aviation.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister was briefed on the status and progress of work on airports in different parts of the country including Bannu and Mansehra.
The Prime Minister was informed that the New Islamabad International Airport will be operationalized on 14th August, 2017.
Addressing the meeting , the Prime Minister expressed hope that the New Islamabad International Airport will be an icon of professional excellence.
Nawaz Sharif directed to ensure that all the international standards are strictly followed while executing the project.
He directed that Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro bus should be connected to the new airport to facilitate the commuters.
The Prime Minister also directed to start work for the extension of Allama Iqbal International Airport.
