Pakistan - Korea relations: Korea reafirms stance to enhance bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Suh Dong-gu paid his first courtesy call on Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi.
The Special Assistant felicitated Ambassador Suh Dong-gu on his appointment as Ambassador to Pakistan.
He expressed confidence that during his assignment as the high representative of an important and friendly country, he would promote the existing level of bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields, especially trade, investment, energy, health and education.
The SAPM welcomed investment by Korean companies in various sectors of Pakistan's economy, especially in hydel projects. He also noted the increase in Korean development assistance.
Besides bilateral relations, the regional situation was also discussed.
The Special Assistant highlighted the serious situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir and the atrocities being committed by Indian security forces on unarmed civilians, which needed to be strongly condemned by the international community.
The Special Assistant expressed his best wishes for the Ambassador's fruitful and mutually beneficial stay in Pakistan.
