Azad Kashmir Super League planned

MUZAFFARABAD (APP): Azad Kashmir Regional Cricket Association (AKRCA) announces to organize a grand sports event titled Azad Kashmir Super League starting in Azad Kashmir starting from September 20 to promote Cricket in Azad Kashmir.

The Secretary General AJK Regional Cricket Association Tanveer Ahmed Mughal , Chairman of the Association Syed Siddique Shah and Media Advisor Syed Nasir Ali Shah announced this while addressing a joint press conference here on Friday.

Tanveer Ahmed said that it would be the first ever mega sports event in the history of the liberated territory in which super stars of Pakistan national cricket will also participate in the mega event.

He said that we have divided the teams in to five zones in which five best teams of Azad Kashmir and super stars of Pakistan Cricket will take part in this hectic tournament.

He said the objective of this sports gala was to revive the cricket and other sports in Azad Kashmir aftermath of the devastative earthquake which struck Azad Kashmir in 2005.

The Chairman AKRCA Syed Siddique Shah on the occasion said that the event will start on the September 20 and the first match would be played between Habib Bank of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir cricket united in Nedol stadium Muzaffarabad. He said that international Pakistani star Shahid Afridi will lead Habib Bank while the national cricket all rounder Bilawal Bhatti will lead Azad Kashmir cricket team .

He revealed that international stars of Pakistani cricket including Ahmed Shahzad, Abdul Rehman and Umer Akmal will also participate in the super league.

Media advisor AKRCA Syed Nasir Ali on the occasion appealed to media to promote Cricket and other sports in Azad Kashmir by providing robust media coverage. He also asked the people of AJK to show their presence in the cricket stadiums and make the event successful.
