ISLAMABAD: Human Rights Commission has issued notices to SSP and Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, to file a detailed compliance report before the commission by October 17 on the recent killing of a civilian, Saleem Malik, by Indian troops in Indian occupied Kashmir .
According to Kashmir Media Service, Saleem Malik was killed when the troops opened fire at his house during a cordon and search operation in Noorbagh area of Srinagar on Thursday (September 27).
The commission issued the notice while acting upon a petition filed by the Chairman of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights , Muhammad Ahsan Untoo.
The notice has been issued by the commission member Dilshada Shaheen. The petitioner had argued that Saleem Malik was made a scapegoat and was killed in target fire.
As per the family of Saleem Malik, he was killed in cold blood as troops pumped 35 bullets into his body leaving him dead instantly.
