Chinese Ambassador calls on NSA Naseer Janjua

ISLAMABAD - Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong called on National Security Adviser (NSA) retd Lt Gen Nasser Janjua on Monday to bid farewell at the end of his tenure in Pakistan, a Foreign Office (FO) statement said.

Regional security and matters of mutual were discussed in the meeting where Lt Gen Janjua "acknowledged and appreciated the role" of the outgoing ambassador in consolidating friendly relations between Pakistan and China, the FO said.

Ambassador Weidong said that the strength of Pak-China relationship lies in the two sides' people to people contact, adding that their friendship had entered into the golden era of its relationship.

"Both sides agreed that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is the flagship project strengthening the ties between the two countries," the FO handout read. "It was a dream that is now translating into a reality and yet there is a lot more to come which both the countries can do together."
