The Guardian reported on Tuesday that a woman official of Federal Bureau of Investigation married an ISIS recruiter after she was tasked to interrogate him.
Daniela Greene, a 38-year-old FBI official, fluent in German, married a German rapper named Denis Cuspert who had given up the life to join the terror outfit.
She was assigned to investigate Cuspert in January 2014 and flew to Turkey and from there to Syria by June that year. She had filled in forms stating that she was to see her family in Germany but flew to the terrorist instead.
The case has recently come to light after Greene was released in August 2016 following a two-year jail term.
According to documents of the trial court, which were studied by a US media outlet, the FBI official married Cuspert to soon regret her step. Her emails sent to an unidentified in the United States showed signs of regret as she stated: "I really made a mess of things this time.”
