First LNG shipment from Qatar arrives in Pakistan

KARACHI: The first shipment from Qatar, carrying 140,000 cubic meter LNG has arrived in Pakistan here at Tuesday. It is the largest ship of LNG from Qatar which arrived at port Qasim.


As per details, The Q-Flex ship will transfer gas from floating terminal to the Sui Sothern Gas Company’s system within seven days. Chairman Port Qasim Agha Jan Akhtar said that 4 LNG ships will arrive at port Qasim every month from Qatar.


He added that four new LNG terminals will be established at port Qasim in this regard. The first ship of LNG arrived in Pakistan under the LNG import agreement between Pakistan and Qatar.


It is also worthy to mention here that an agreement has been signed between both countries to import $16 billion LNG during PM Nawaz visit to Qatar.
