COAS meets Ashraf Ghani in Kabul and participated in change of US command ceremony

KABUL: COAS General Raheel Sharif met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and participated in change of command ceremony of Resolute Support Mission during his brief stopover in Kabul.
Both leaders discussed the regional situation and border management.
COAS reiterated Pakistan’s whole support to Afghanistan for peace and stability in the region.
Afghan President acknowledged Pak Army’s efforts in the war against terrorism.
They also expressed confidence for the positive outcome of QCG peace talks.
COAS also met with US Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford, Commander US Central Command General Lloyd J. Austin and Resolute Support Mission Commander General Nicholson.
COAS was coming back from Tajikistan where he met with Tajik President and offered Pakistan’s full support in capacity building of Tajikistan forces to counter terrorism.
