China’s Navy launches first self propelled dock capable of repairing it’s naval arsenal in combat zone

BEIJING: A Chinese news paper claimed that China’s Navy has launched its first self-propelled floating dock which is capable of repairing naval arsenal in the combat zone which is a latest move of China to modernize its navy.
The dock ‘Huachuan No. 1’ is designed for combat zone having capability to repair damaged ships in very rapid time.
The paper said “The ship’s launch marks a further breakthrough in shifting repairs to our military’s large warships from set spots on the coast to mobility far out at sea.”
The dock is capable to handle cruisers, destroyers and submarines but not aircraft carrier.
China claims the most of South China Sea through which more than $5 trillion trade passes every year.
China has also deployed latest missile defence system in the Woody Island which is a part of Paracel Chain.
Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines and Taiwan have rival claims of South China Sea.
China has developed homegrown weapon industry to support its armed forces.
China is producing low cost weapons to capture the international arms market.
