Islamabad: Important decisions taken in the Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad.The federal government on Tuesday decided to conduct forensic audit of all sugar mills in the country in order to find irregularities if any.
The decision was made in a cabinet meeting headed by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) have been tasked to conduct the audit starting from 1985.
The meeting also reviewed political and coronavirus situation, besides exchanging views on Budget 2020-21.
The cabinet also approved the decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee. It was also briefed about investigation into the PIA plane crash.
The National Disaster Management Authority and Ministry of Food Security briefed the cabinet about locusts’ attacks.
The meeting also allowed the Asian Development Bank to build its office in Islamabad, besides giving go-ahead to declare employment of Utility Stores Corporation part of essential services.
The cabinet approved appointment of chairman of the National Shipping Corporation, besides extending deputation of District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Saad Qureshi as Banking Court, Karachi judge.
The meeting also approved the appointment of chief executive officer of Central Power Purchasing Agency.
