NEW DELHI - Two Indian Army officials were thrashed by the employees of a restaurant in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat.
A video shared by news agency ANI on Sunday showed goons descending on the two Army jawans with sticks and hurling abuses at them. One of the jawan was seen fighting back. He later tried to escape but was mercilessly beaten by the mob and was seen bleeding.
Uttar Pradesh police said the Army jawans were having lunch at a restaurant in Baghpat when they had an argument with a person. Later, the restaurant staff got involved and a fight broke out between the two sides. However, details of the arguments are not known as of now.
The police said a case has been registered and more than seven people have been arrested in the related to the incident.
"Two Army jawans were having lunch at a restaurant when they had an argument with a person, then the restaurant staff got involved and a fight broke out.
Case registered and 7-8 restaurant employees have been arrested," Ramnand Kushwaha, Circle Officer, was quoted as saying by ANI.
