Thousands of mourners attend funeral prayers of Kashmiri martyrs

ISLAMABAD - In occupied Kashmir, thousands of mourners attended funeral prayers of two youth martyred by Indian troops in a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Both Magray and Butt were killed in a 10-hour long cordon and search operation by the Indian troops in Dragad village on Friday.

The army claimed that they were mujahideen who were killed during a gunfight. The troops also martyred a youth, Jasim Ahmad Shah during the operation.

After multiple rounds of funerals prayers, the youth were laid to rest in their ancestral graveyards.

Meanwhile, an Indian soldier committed suicide in Jammu district.

On the other hand, Chairman Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai says situation in Kashmir has become one of the greatest human rights crises.

In a statement in Srinagar, Ashraf Sehrai said international forums like OIC and Security Council should take concrete action to effectively protect civilians in the occupied territory. He reiterated his appeal to the world community to resolve the Kashmir dispute in the interest of humanity.
