KARACHI – Prominent lawyer Sharifuddin Pirzada has passed away today (Friday) in Karachi. All leading proceedings were temporarily suspended in the Sindh High Court.
Pirzada was born in 1923 and served as secretary to Pakistan’s founder Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He became attorney general for both Yahya and Ayub Khan and served in the capacity of foreign minister as well.
From 1985 to 1988, Pirzada also served as the secretary general of the Organisation of Islamic Conference.
