Pakistan most reliable contributor to UN peace keeping missions: Ban Ki Moon

NEW YORK: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon claimed that Pakistan is one of the most reliable and consistent member of UN peace keeping missions.

 

Ban Ki-moon claimed that more than 150,000 Pakistani personnel participated in 41 peacekeeping missions of UN and still 7,000 Pakistani soldiers are serving in peacekeeping missions.

 

He lauded Pakistan for the contribution that improved security and political situation in those areas.

 

Pakistan Foreign Affairs department quoted Ban Ki-moon statement as “I am honoured to join you in making Pakistani Peacekeeper’s Day . Since its first deployment in the Congo in 1960, Pakistan has been one of the most consistent and reliable contributors to United Nations peacekeeping.”
