PTI Minister Faisal Vawda faces huge embarrassment

ISLAMABAD – PTI Minister Faisal Vawda had to face huge embarrassment as the Journalists on Wednesday boycotted a press conference of Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda.

Journalists boycotted press conference for exchanging ‘bitter words’ with a senior journalist.

Addressing to the press conference, the minister said, “I am not somebody’s father’s servant that I submit a reply on a day’s notice. It is not acceptable for a suspect who is serving a jail term to question me during a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).”

Criticising Opposition Leader and PAC Chairman Shehbaz Sharif, the water resources minister said, “You are serving in prison because you steal and fraud. We will not inaugurate the one project as ten times.” “We will not come under any pressure and are only focusing on our work,” he added.

Faisal Vawda irked at a question of a senior journalist about Mohmand Dam bid won by the joint venture of Descon owned by Adviser to PM on Commerce, Textile, Industry and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood.

Replying to the question of senior journalists, the minister exchanged bitter words with the journalist. “I am only answering the question because you are my elder. If this was someone else, I would not have even spoke on it and also hit the mic on his face.”

Responding to the remarks of Faisal Vawda, the journalists staged a protest and left the Press Information Department despite Vawda’s apologies.
