Donald Trump’s tweet against Pakistan becomes his most popular ever tweet
WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump’s first tweet of 2018 accusing Pakistan of ‘deceit and lies’ against the aid provided to it was his most liked tweet ever.
According to Twitter analytics, Trump’s tweet in which he was apparently seething, for handing over $33b to Pakistan in terms of assistance (though the figures are disputed) was favourited for a record 253 K times, which is still counting.
Moreover, the message was also retweeted for a record 85,000 times, his highest ever figure.
The outlandish tweet, that left Islamabad in shock and anger for having provided matchless support to Washington in war against terror engaged a record Twitterati (33,8112).
The reason for the engagements is the fact that due to penetration of internet, Pakistani’s who are in droves on the microblogging platform, felt humiliated by the allegations of providing safe havens to the terrorists and so responded the tweet with anger.
Pakistan has yet to give an official rejoiner to Trump’s remarks and a special meeting of National Security Council has been convened today.
