Azerbaijan supports Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir: Ambassador
ISLAMABAD: Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Alizada, during a meeting with National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua, said on Friday that Baku fully supports Islamabad’s stance on Kashmir.
The Azeri ambassador called for the implementation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution on Kashmir. It is important to mention here that Azerbaijan is also a member of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir.
The ambassador said that Azerbaijan enjoyed cordial and warm relations with Pakistan and expressed his desire to expand the spectrum of cooperation further. He also highlighted the fact that the two countries shared identical views on major regional and international issues concerning peace and security. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s support to Azerbaijan’s stand on the issue of Nagorno Karabakh.
On the occasion, Janjua said that since the inception of Azerbaijan, Pakistan was among the first countries to recognise it immediately and also supported the Azeri government on different forums. Both sides also discussed ways to further improve cooperation in defence and security.
