Govt fulfilled promise of running 10 new trains: Rashid
Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said the government has fulfilled its promise of running ten new trains during first one hundred days.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore today, he said the government promoting tourism through train service and three tourist trains are being launched in this regard. He said steam engine train will be plied from Rawalpindi to Taxila for promotion of tourism.
He said revenue of two billion rupees has been generated during first ninety days of his tenure.
The Minister said revenue of the railways have enhanced by twenty percent due to an increase in the reservation hours.
He said a target of business worth ten billion rupees have been set which would be achieved at all costs.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said round the clock reservation of seats will commence in seven divisions.
