Pakistan Bar Council makes an appeal to the Chief Justice of Pakistan

Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Umar Ata Bandial to ensure that voting link on the opposition’s no-trust motion link in the National Assembly takes place according to the constitution.
In its declaration, the PBC link has expressed the fear that any delay in voting link on the no-confidence motion link harm democracy.
The PBC link has also expressed the fear that tensions between the government and the opposition may give an excuse to non-democratic forces to intervene. “Therefore in order to ensure the rule of law link, the CJP link is requested to take notice of the situation and ensure completion of the process in the light of the constitution,” reads the declaration.
