Pakistani team management comes to rescue Skipper Babar Azam over unsolicited advices

ISLAMABAD - Pakistani team management comes to rescue Skipper Babar Azam over unsolicited advices.

Team management has come to the Babar Azam’s rescue, directing multiple former captains and seniors in the T20I team to refrain from giving unsolicited advice to the relatively new captain.

The presence of a number of senior players in the side has led to confusion and it was evident in Pakistan’s loss to England in the 2nd T20I. Former cricketers, including Shoaib Akhtar and Younis Khan, have said that Babar needs to make his own decisions instead of relying on seniors for advice.

“It can get difficult for a captain when he is receiving so much advice and also suggestions on the field as well. Whether the suggestions are coming from off the field or from inside the field, it’s meant for the betterment of the team”, Younis Khan who is also the batting coach, said after the match.

My advice to Babar is that as a leader you should try and take your own decisions; He should not be afraid of taking his decisions even if they are incorrect because you can always learn from those mistakes.

Babar Azam is a new captain and needs time to develop into a world-class leader, however, seniors and team management will have to play a positive role instead of merely putting pressure on him.
