RAWALPINDI: Adiala jail authorities have been directed to detain the five suspects, associated with the defunct Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in the Benazir Bhutto murder case for thirty days.
Interior ministry has directed the jail authorities to detain the five suspects – Rafaqat Hussain, Hasnain Gul, Sher Zaman, Aitzaz Shah and Abdul Rasheed – at Adiala jail under the relevant laws for a period of a month.
A day earlier, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) announced verdict in the December 27, 2007 assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, acquitting the five accused while declaring former army chief Pervez Musharraf as absconder.
The court also ordered confiscation of the movable and immovable property of Musharraf, who was implicated in the case in February 2011.
