LAHORE: (APP) The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday adjourned the hearing of Royal Palm case till September 2.

Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza heard the petition filed by Mainland Husnian Pakistan Limited against the alleged occupation of the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club by the railways.

During the hearing, the petitioner's counsel Barrister Syed Ali Zafar submitted that the respondents could not take over the possession of the club and sporting facilities without due process of law.

He further said that a civil court had issued a stay order on a suit filed by a member of club against Pakistan Railways but the respondents violated the court directions and took possession of the club.

He contended that the step taken by respondents was illegal.

However, the court adjourned the hearing till September 2 and directed petitioner counsel to continue his arguments on next hearing.
