Punjab Government scientific initiative for Farmers

LAHORE (APP): Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Chairman Dr Umar Saif has said on the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, five million smart phones would be distributed among farmers to educate them regarding modern farming techniques.
Addressing a meeting here at PITB office on Wednesday, he said distribution of phones would be started from October and farmers would also be given loans of Rs 1 billion annually.
He said smart phones would have an application of the PITB with easy use and farmers would be able to get beneficial advices by experts through the phone.
"The farmers will receive free alerts about the use of pesticides for their yields," he added.
