GILGIT: The 70th Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) will be celebrated with traditional zeal and fervor on 1st November.

On November 1, 1947, the people of Gilgit-Baltistan had revolted against Dogra Raj and liberated 72,000 square kilometers of geo-strategically located land.
GB government has declared an official holiday on the occasion.

The main function will be held in historic Chinar Bagh Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Raj Jala Hussain, Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman, Force Commander Northern Areas Maj General Ehsan Mehmood along with civil and military officials and GB war veteran will attended the flag hoisting ceremony.

High officials will lay floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and will offer Fatiha.
