Top court to announce verdict on Khawaja Asif’s appeal at 11am

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has reserved its verdict on Khawaja Asif’s appeal against his disqualification. A special bench will read the short order by 11am on Friday.

The Islamabad High Court had disqualified for life the former foreign minister from holding public office for not disclosing his employment in a UAE-based company and his monthly salary. On April 27, the PML-N leader filed an appeal with the Supreme Court against the decision.

Justice Umar Atta Bandial heads the bench that resumed the hearing of Khawaja Asif’s appeal. Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah are the other two members. AFP
