Pakistan releases 10 Iranian sailors

ISLAMABAD - Ten Iranian sailors, arrested by the Pakistani authorities and kept in Karachi city jail, were released on Thursday due to the efforts by Iranian Consulate General and the follow-up of their case.

Iranian sailors were captured while wandering on the sea and illegally entering the Pakistani territorial waters. The sailors returned home on an Iran Air flight.

In March this year 9 sailors were also released by Pakistani authorities.

Over the last two years, 40 captured Iranian citizens in Pakistan were released through efforts by the Iranian consulate general.
