Tehran admits Pakistan's role in uniting Iran-Saudi Arabia

Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoust says Pakistan has been playing a very positive role in bridging the differences between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

In an interview with PTV, he said Muslim countries like Pakistan have been sincere in their approach in resolving the conflicts in Muslim world. He said Tehran highly values Islamabad's role in uniting the Muslim Ummah.

Replying to a question, the Iranian ambassador said Iran has always stood against super powers' policy of domination in the Middle East and faced a lot of damage in the form of economic sanctions. Yet, it never surrendered to their policies.

Mehdi Honardoust said Iran is a country with 60 percent youth in its population and has a huge potential to transform it to a vibrant economy.

When asked about striking a deal with the United States on nuclear issue, the Iranian ambassador said Iran wants peace and is not against an accord which ensures tranquility and stability.
