Iran's nuclear deal crucial to regional, int’l security: UN

ISLAMABAD-The United Nations says Iran's nuclear deal remains crucial to regional and international security.

Speaking at the Security Council, UN undersecretary-general for political and peacebuilding affairs Rosemary DiCarlo said the future of this agreement is in doubt after the withdrawal of the United States from it and the reversal of some of Iran's commitments.

She asked participants of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action to resolve all differences within the Dispute Resolution Mechanism under the plan.

UN undersecretary-general also urged all member states to avoid provocative rhetoric and actions.

Meanwhile, the United States has pushed the U.N. Security Council to extend an arms embargo on Iran before it expires in October this year.
