Rana Sanullah arrested from Motorway

LAHORE – Rana Sanaullah, one of the most vocal critic of the PTI government and a PMLN-N member of Pakistan’s National Assembly, has been arrested over his alleged links with drug-peddlers and banned outfits.

Reports in local media said the president of Pakistan Muslim League-N’s Punjab chapter was picked up by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) from Motorway near Sukheki while he was on his way to Lahore from Faisalabad.

The mobile phones of his security guards were confiscated before his arrest.

Sanaullah, 69, is accused of having contact with drug suppliers. These drug peddlers were in contact with some banned terrorist outfits, according to ANF-Lahore. He is also accused of funding some proscribed organisations.

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) is a federal executive bureau of the Government of Pakistan, tasked with combating the narcotics smuggling and use within Pakistan. ANF works under umbrella of Pakistan Army and Ministry of Narcotics Control.
