PM Imran Khan for crackdown against smuggling in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the scourge of smuggling has damaged the national economy and government is committed to control this menace in an effective way.
He was chairing a high level meeting to prevent smuggling in Islamabad on Monday.
He said development of agriculture sector and promotion of industrial sector are very imperative to steer out the country from the swamp of loan.
The meeting decided to constitute a high level committee in supervision of Interior Minister which will included members from interior ministry, commerce division, Finance Division and representatives of provinces.
The committee will review all aspects of smuggling and will present its recommendation for effective monitoring on borders, amendments in existing laws and other related affairs within a month.
