Pakistani Rupee lost value against the US dollar in interbank market

Pakistani Rupee (PKR) has started the week with an almost blanket loss against most major currencies in the international currency market. Except for the Australian Dollar, Monday marked a losing day for PKR. ------------------------------

Last Monday, PKR had lost against several major currencies in the interbank market before posting recovery in the following days.

Today (February 1), PKR lost 12 paisas to the US Dollar, closing at Rs. 160.22 against the USD compared to Rs. 160.10 on Friday (January 29). ------------------------------

Against the Euro, today’s loss for PKR was 16 paisas, while it deteriorated by 82 paisas against the GBP.

The only improvement for PKR was against the AUD, where PKR posted an improvement of 11 paisas. Against the Canadian Dollar, PKR went down by 74 paisas.

PKR has been posting losses against both the UAE Dirham (AED) and the Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR). Monday also saw the same trend with a loss of 3 paisas against each.
