Major Zeeshan murder case: IHC reserves judgment

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court Wednesday reserved its judgment on a post-arrest bail application of three accused arrested for killing Major Zeeshan Qamar.
Justice Aamir Farooq reserved the verdict after hearing arguments from litigants' counsel.

The counsel for Dr Samir Qureshi, brother of Major Zeeshan, argued that the accused remained absconders for six months and if they were granted bail, they would disappear.
He said the accused, who were arrested in a rape case in May 2017, were identified by witnesses that they were also the killers of Major Zeeshan.
According to a police report submitted before the court, the accused were wanted in 11 cases of murder, robbery and theft, and they had confessed to their involvement.

The counsel for the accused pleaded that his clients had been behind the bars for last one year. As no concrete evidence against them had yet been presented, they should be bailed out, he added.
It may be added that Major Zeeshan was shot dead by three armed persons on putting up resistance during a daylight robbery at his house in Sector I-8 of Islamabad on November 4, 2016.
