OIC urges Myanmar to address root causes of tensions in Rakhine State

The Organization of the Islamic Cooperation has demanded concrete steps to address the root causes of tensions in Rakhine State of Myanmar.
In a statement, the Organization said agreement between Bangladesh and Myanmar for repatriation of Rohingya refugees must clearly identify the terms and conditions, including the numbers that will be returned and provide guarantees of safety.
OIC has also welcomed the visit of Pope Francis to Myanmar and his support to peace and reconciliation efforts.
