KPK Government unique package for 'expecting mothers' launched
PESHAWAR (APP): Senior Minister for Health, Shahram Khan Tarkai said that Rs 2,700 assistance package would be given to every deserving pregnant women in Mardan district at time of medical checkup to help reduce mothers-children mortality ratio.
The provincial Health Minister made this announcement as chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the programme launched from Gujjar Garhi, Serai Behlol, Chak Mardan, Khazana Dheri and Mohabbat Abad areas in Mardan.
Representatives of the local government, local nazims and notables of the city attended the ceremony.
The Minister said financial assistance would be provided to women at basic health centres in installments at union council level.
He said that Rs 500 would be provided to every deserving pregnant woman on three visits to hospital before delivery and Rs 1,000 will be provided on delivery.
He said every deserving woman will get Rs 2,700 overall, adding this programme would be gradually extended to all districts of the province.
He said this would help in reducing mothers-child mortality ratio besides avoiding health complications.
