Nine LeJ militants held in Lahore; Seminary sealed

LAHORE: Nine suspected militants have been arrested by the Counter Terrorism Department CTD in Lahore from the Farooq- I- Azam Madrassah. They allegedly belonged to banned outfit Lashkar- e Jhangvi LeJ. As per details, they have been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation. CTD spokesperson said in his statement that police received an intelligence report about the presence of Lashkar- e – jhangvi militants in Seminary, police team conducted a raid in Farooq- I- Azam and arrested the suspected militants. They have been identified by the names of Mubashir Ahmed, Muhammad Sarfraz, Tahir Hasam, Muhammad Firdous, Muhammad Talha, Usman Ghani, Tamseel Ahmed Siddiqui, Aamir Mahmood and Abdul Waheed. CTD official further said that police have also recovered huge quantity of hate material form the seminary. Seminary was also involved in various terrorist activities. It was the first seminary sealed after launching of the National Action Plan NAP in the country.
